Politics : John Leech Challenges Manchester Cuts

Lib Dem MP John Leech revealed himself as a former MEN correspondent at Prime Minister's Questions today.

At Prime Minister's Questions he asked if Manchester City Council was justified in cutting Libraries and Leisure Centres while spending thousands staging an Alicia Keys concert.

Had he rounded it off by asking who elected 'Patricia Karnival' as City Centre Supremo, no one would have batted an eyelid.

Lucy Powell, Labour MP for Central Manchester tweeted "Absolutely disgraceful use of #PMQs by John Leech about cuts to Manchester Council budgets.  Thankfully no one in Mcr believes you John"

Political commentators have speculated that as Manchester has no Tory MPs, Lib Dems are obliged as part of the coalition agreement to take their place on local matters.

Our journalists have researched Wikipedia to discover that John Leech's full name is "John Sampson Macfarlane Leech" and that he was born in Hastings, East Sussex."

As a life long Tory voter, I applaud John Leech's standing up for Tory cuts on his own city.

    I'll miss him after 2015.

  2. If John is taking the tory place on local matters, does that allow him to claim 2 lots of allowances?

    2. I don't think he's married, so there's nobody to take the points for him if he gets caught.

I blame the recent upsurge in city centre barbers and "male grooming" emporia,

Send 'em back, we don't want to be close shaved round here.

Oh, no wait, its beards we don't want round here.

Who knew being a racist was so difficult, its no wonder they are so angry all the time.
