Did George Osborne pass 'O' level Geography?
We need to ask because he has allowed Wilmslow train station to undergo a costly 'upgrade' to its appearence. After spending half a squillion Euros, the sign to Wilmslow train station has been cleaned, despite it not being a station on the new HS2 train line.
In a further twist, he allowed the public to see his preferred HS2 train design which uses a biomass boiler to heat water, converting it to steam which then runs through pipework to turn the wheels.
His office didn't say "George is very keen to utilise the latest Green solutions on the HS2 lines, he plans to chop all the remaining trees in England down to power the trains, allowing the Forestry Commision to be scrapped thereby reducing Public Expenditure and be long gone before anyone wakes up to the idea that he has pulled the wool over everyones eye."
Is this a good idea and value-for-money?
Its good that the stations are being renovated, they will look nice when when the cattle trucks start to arrive from London full of poor people.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't suppose they will be stopping in Wilmslow
