Reports have been received that the Jessops brand has recently been purchased by a group of investors, including the entrepreneur Peter Jones of Dragon's Den fame.
Jessops went into adminstration during January 2013, with PricewaterhouseCoopers being appointed the companies administrator, who closed all shoips virtually immediately.
In an announcement by Rob Hunt on Thursday evening, joint administrator and partner, PwC said:
"We can confirm that we have sold the brand and certain other assets to a number of buyers including entrepreneur Peter Jones CBE."

Whilst it is not currently believed that any of Jessop shops were part of the purchase, an online presence could be revived.

Further information on the deal may be made available later.
So it looks like he's just bought the brand, not the shops.
ReplyDeleteSo it will rise just like woolworths did? You can still buy stuff at woolworths.co.uk, at play.com and at zavvi.com. The internet is becoming an elephants' graveyard of high street failures.
If Peter Jones is in,so am I.I love what he did with Hamfatter.
