GMP Horsing Around

Today a horse was found in the back garden of a house in Greater Manchester.

The horse was discovered at an address in Inglewood Close, Partington.

The owner of the house initially thought Findus had made a delivery to the wrong address, but as the horse was not enclosed by lasagne sheets and dripping in a white Bechamal sauce, they decided to phone the police.

Officers from GMP Urmston attended and started a search to locate its owner (the horse that is not the house, otherwise it would have been a short search.)

Said one imaginary neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous ""it's disgraceful, how dare someone just let there horse roam free in the area, do they not know that children play in this area and a cyclist may have been hurt?"

Said another even more imaginary neighbour in a distictly non-Mancurian accent, possibly Welsh "I went up to the horse and it had a postal tag around its neck, it said something like 'if lost, please return to Comicgel, France' - I was flabbergasted, a french horse in Manchester - obviously UKBA must be to blame."

The police eventually traced the owner of the horse and horse and owner were reunited.

TfGMUK reported no tram delays were caused by this incident, for once.

See the full report tomorrow in a pisspoor regional paper near you where they will probably make it into a full page article to fill the paper. Or for the facts, go to the actual police twitter feed at

  3. Isn't this area of Partington popular with travellers? Nice to see a story designed to appeal to the racists amongst your readership.
