European Referendum

David Cameron will be making his long awaited speech on Europe today, promising a referendum after the next general election.

So what do you make of that?

  1. Always after the next election, with no statement on what the referendum will ask. It could ask 'should we have a referendum' after the next election?'

    1. Oh it looks like a simple in/out question is being proposed

  2. I think the stark reality of this is that it's a political move to out-flank UKIP and the anti-European extremes of his own Party.

The vote will be to stay in with reforms, or get out. Hopefully this will shut the anti-Europeans up and let us get on with creating a working Europe that we can trade with.

    1. 'I think the stark reality of this is that it's a political move to out-flank UKIP' - of course it's political, trying to win the next election by woeing all the non-Europhiles
